“I am optimistic that this trend of top-notch collaboration will increase now that an indigene of the community has emerged as the Rector of the Polytechnic, a development which makes it the first time in the history of the institution”, the monarch remarked.

Responding, Chairman of the Polytechnic Governing Council, Dr Mrs Veronica Ogbuagu said the members of the Council were very happy that Oba Olugbenle and the people of the community were doing so much to promote a vibrant gown and town relationship, adding that the Council will not take the gesture of the community for granted, but rather see it as an impetus to deliver more quality service and sustain the existing productive relationship between the Polytechnic and the Yewa community.

In his address, the new Rector, Dr Akinde thanked Oba Olugbenle, the Council Members and all those who stood by him during the process of his appointment, assuring that he would not betray the confidence reposed in him just as he solicited for the cooperation, advise and support of all and sundry.
