SENATOR ADEOLA (YAYI) INAUGURATES CAMPAIGN COUNCIL; ASSURES OF ROBUST POLITICS OF DEVELOPMENT IN OGUN WEST. By Femi Dokunmu.
The Ogun West Senatorial Candidate of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in the February 25 general elections, Senator Solomon Olamilekan Adeola, popularly called YAYI, has inaugurated the Board, Committees and Coordinators of his campaign for the elections with an assurance that he would run an inclusive electioneering campaign that would ensure victory for all the APC candidates in the Senatorial district.
The inauguration which was held in Ilaro on Monday also witnessed the public presentation of a document containing Senator Adeola’s biography, his developmental activities and Manifesto, titled, “ My Covenant with Ogun Westerners”, as well as the distribution of 25 branded campaign vehicles and 96 motorcycles to all the local government, zonal and ward coordinators of the YAYI Campaign Team.
In his address at the occasion, Senator Adeola said his decision to leave Lagos State and come back to play politics in his ancestral home in Ogun State was one of the most difficult decisions he had taken in the interest of his people in Ogun West, noting however that his coming back home was made possible by Governor Dapo Abiodun and leaders across political party divides who have supported and encouraged him. He said he would continue to be grateful to Governor Abiodun for this gesture.
He assured the people of Ogun West that he was committed to promoting a robust politics of development that would bring about a major transformation in the socio-economic development of the area.
“The level of development about to happen, you have not witnessed or seen it before. This is the beginning of good things and new things to come. I therefore call on all my brothers across the divide to let us set aside whatever differences we might have and let us move Ogun West to the next level’, he said, adding; ‘my quest to return home or represent Ogun West is not to ridicule them or say they are nobody. I appreciate all their contributions over the years, but we must work together to move Ogun West forward”.
Presenting a goodwill message at the event, a chieftain of the party and Ogun State coordinator of the Tinubu Campaign Council on Grassroots Engagement and Orientation, Chief Wale Ohu said that Senator Bola Ahmed Tinubu has no doubt in Senator Adeola’s ability to perform well as a Senator in Ogun State adding that YAYI is one of the most cherished political sons of the APC Presidential candidate whose performance as a lawmaker in Lagos State has been very impressive.
“Ogun State and indeed Ogun West stand to gain immensely by ensuring that the APC wins at the Federal and State levels with YAYI emerging as one of the Senators to build on the foundation being built by Governor Dapo Abiodun in Ogun State”, he said.
The Vice Director-General of the Ogun State APC Campaign Council from Ogun West, Chief Jide Ojuko said the State Council is happy with the level of campaign activities being executed by Senator Solomon Adeola and expressed the hope that this would be sustained until all the elections are won for the APC.
He said Senator Adeola has proved that he is and will continue to be a great asset to Ogun West and Ogun State even beyond 2023 and 2027.
The APC House of Representatives candidate for Ado-odo/Ota Federal Constituency, Engr. Tunji Akinosi, who spoke on behalf of all the APC candidates in the Senatorial District said that they are all committed to ensuring that all the party’s candidates co-operate and work to ensure that Ogun West delivers nothing less than 300,000 thousand votes for the Presidential, Governorship and Senatorial Candidates of the party just as all the other candidates would be supported to win their respective seats.
After the inauguration of the YAYI Campaign Team, members of the team and party faithful in their thousands, including some members of the APC in Lagos West were treated to the New-Year Party organized annually by the Distinguished Senator; with two gospel singers, Tope Alabi and Laolu Gbenjo taking turns to entertain the Senator, his family and the guests.
