Senator Kola Bajomo pays tribute to Omoba Babatunde Osokoya
Senator Felix Kolawole Bajomo describes the passing of Omoba Babatunde Osokoya, the former Secretary to the Ogun State Government as a personal loss to him, noting that Osokoya was a cousin/Brother in-law with about 62 years of mutual personal relationship.
In a condolence letter made available to the Press, Senator Bajomo expressed that 'Omoba Osokoya was an astute public servant who has left a footprint in the annals of public governance history in Ogun State'.
According to the Senator, 'Omoba Albertson Babatunde Osokoya mni, was an enviable symbol of excellence and professionalism in public service. He was a Permanent Secretary, Head of Service and pioneer Chief of Staff to the Governor of Ogun State. He was subsequently appointed Chairman of the Civil Service Commission between 2003 and 2011 in recognition of his meritorious public service'.
The death of the former Secretary to the Ogun State Government, Omoba Osokoya was announced on Sunday, 8th February 2026. Senator Bajomo recalled that, 'Otunba Osokoya's public service prowess was exemplary and that he has left an indelible mark for the generations coming behind to follow'.
Senator Bajomo acknowledged that Osokoya's experience and contributions towards humanity and public service will be sorely missed. He then extended his heartfelt condolences to the Osokoya family at this difficult time and fervently prayed that the Lord shall grant them the fortitude to bear this irreparable loss in Jesus’ wondrous name.
